Inspiring Beings News Report

    Inspiring Beings is a campaign that established at United Arab Emirates University by six students from Media and Creative Industries Department in the year 2019- 2020 and they are Maha Alkatheeri, Jawaher Bin Hariz, Maitha Alsaedi, Ghaya Almayyala, Meera Albalushi, and Hessa Almualla. The campaign was part of their graduation project that was supervised by Professor Shujun Jiang.

 

    The campaign is to raise awareness about people of determination and their experience in the university among university students and aimed to make their university life easier also showcase their talents.

 

    The campaign has formed four activities and events. The first one was visiting Bedaya Rehabilitation and Training Center on the 3rd of October to film the center and with the types of equipment, they used and to make interviews with the manager and doctors also to know more about people of determination. The second event was at the World Cane Day on 15th of October we participated with Social Education Department. We had a booth to explain our campaign ideas and we did an interview with a journalist. The third event was installing the blind path on the 18th of November in some areas at UAEU female campus from C1 To B3 and foodcourt. The last event was the Inspiring Beings Event and we distributed the event posters in the whole university. The event had five sections which they are: an SNS section to introduce SNS center to UAEU students, the second section was Introduction to Inspiring Beings campaign to explain the campaign ideas, the third one was vision disability, the fourth one was a physical disability and the last one was Hearing disability. each section has different activities to engage the audiences. We did survey barcode and make students scan the barcode to do the survey to evaluate our campaign and the results were good and it showed that our audiences got benefited and got new information.

    In order to reach a wide range of audiences and to make the contact easy, Social Media platforms such as Instagram and twitter were used throughout the campaign, also to spread our ideas and objectives and to raise awareness about people of determination. In addition, we had a website and we put a lot of information about us, videos, photos, audios and more.
